Padres | Brad Hawpe, Jorge Cantu could DH

San Diego Padres manager Bud Black said 1Bs Brad Hawpe (elbow) and Jorge Cantu are the top candidates to serve as the designated hitter when the team hits the road for interleague play this weekend. OF Ryan Ludwick could also DH, with OF Will Venable moving to left field.

Hawpe was out of the lineup for the third straight game Wednesday, June 15, and is nursing a sore left elbow, but Black hopes he can return to action this weekend.
