Cubs | Angel Guzman surprises team
Chicago Cubs RP Angel Guzman (shoulder) made his first minor league rehab appearance Friday, June 10, with Class A Peoria, and he worked two scoreless innings with two strikeouts. He ended up throwing 21 pitches in his first game action since 2009. "I would not say that we are shocked," assistant general manager Randy Bush said. "I would just say we went into it with no expectations. So we felt if this guy wants to rehabilitate we want to help him. He is one of our favorites. We knew his work ethic going in." There is still no timetable for a potential return to the big club.
