Bengals | Tried to trade up for QB

The Cincinnati Bengals engaged the Green Bay Packers in trade talks late in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft Thursday, April 28, in order to draft a quarterback. The Bengals were expected to draft Texas Christian QB Andy Dalton had they traded up.

The Bengals have also spent time with Arkansas QB Ryan Mallett, who remains available heading into the second round. However, Dalton seems to be a better fit for the offensive scheme.

The team has said they will not trade QB Carson Palmer, but sources think they will listen to favorable offers. The Oakland Raiders, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals and Miami Dolphins could consider trading for Palmer.
