Rockies | Ian Stewart not a lock for Opening Day
Colorado Rockies general manager Dan O'Dowd said 3B Ian Stewart (hamstring) is not a lock to play on Opening Day later this week and must play Wednesday, March 30, and possibly Thursday, March 31, in a minor league game in order to prove he is fully healthy, according to The Denver Post's Troy E. Renck. "We are going to continue to evaluate him," O'Dowd said. "We will have him play a few more games to make sure he's 100 percent ready so I can't really answer the question (if he will start season on roster)." If Stewart opens on the disabled list, OF Willy Taveras could make the team.
