Padres | Team cuts 11

The San Diego Padres cut their roster to 47 players Friday, March 11, reports Corey Brock, of MLB.com. The team optioned Ps Simon Castro, Jeremy Hefner, Evan Scribner and Aaron Poreda to Triple-A Tucson. C Luis Martinez was also sent to Tucson. IF Jeudy Valdez was optioned to Class A Lake Elsinore. The team also reassigned P Anthony Bass, IFs James Darnell, Andrew Parrino and Anthony Rizzo to their minor league camp. C Jason Hagerty was also moved to the minor league camp.
