Phillies | Chase Utley could have played through pain last year
Philadelphia Phillies 2B Chase Utley (knee), who has yet to play in any of the team's spring games due to patellar tendonitis in his right knee, may have played through tendonitis in his knee last year, according to MLB.com's Todd Zolecki. General manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said the team should know if Utley's cortisone shot was a success by this weekend. IFs Wilson Valdez, Delwyn Young, Peter Orr, Josh Barfield, Michael Martinez and Brian Bocock could all fill in at second if Utley has to open the season on the disabled list.
