Redskins | Mini-camp Starting

The Washington Post reports the Washington Redskins will start their first mini-camp under new coach Marty Schottenheimer on Saturday and 13 players not under contract will be there. Two of those players are former Redskins DT Doug Brown and veteran P Rick Tuten. WR Michael Westbrook and C Cory Raymer will not participate in drills as they continue to rehabilitate the knee injuries that ended last season early for them. CB Deion Sanders (baseball) and newly re-signed LB Kevin Mitchell (shoulder) will not be there either. The other non-signed players invited to the mini-camp are WRs Tamon Bryant, Brice Hunter, Winston October and Mike Scarbrough; RB Greg Hill; QB Bill Burke; DL Rasheed Simmons; LBs Ron George, Tony McCombs and Ratcliff Thomas; and S Rodney Rideau. The team will practice twice per day this weekend. OL Jay Leeuwenburg, who has yet to re-sign, will not participate in this mini-camp.
