Redskins | Mini-camp Done

According to their official site, the Washington Redskins first mini-camp under new coach Marty Schottenheimer ended earlier today with the coach saying the two-day session went better than he had anticipated. He said the players put forth a solid effort over the two days to learn the basics of the system. LBs Shawn Barber and Kevin Mitchell and RB Larry Centers were among the players who only practiced lightly due to injury on Sunday. WR Michael Westbrook and C Cory Raymer again showed marked signs of improvement on Sunday. Westbrook did not push his knee too hard on the wet turf on Sunday, but his being on hand was certainly an encouraging sign. Raymer took part in nearly every drill with the offensive linemen. After practice the coach refused to speculate as to whom or what position the Redskins would focus on in this month's NFL draft. He did acknowledge that one of the Redskins area of need was the interior of the offensive line.
