Pirates | Tony Sanchez struggling
Several scouts reported that Pittsburgh Pirates C Tony Sanchez struggled with breaking balls and had many defensive flaws while playing in the Arizona Fall League this offseason, according to MLB.com's Jenifer Langosch. However, the team thinks it was a product of a lengthy summer layoff. Sanchez hit .206 with one double and four home runs while striking out 21 times in 68 at-bats in 18 games in the AFL. Sanchez needs to work on his catch-and-throw abilities and his receiving skills. He is likely to begin the 2011 season with Double-A Altoona.
