Packers | Running game struggling

The Green Bay Packers' running game has continued to struggle and the team used their "Big Five" formation frequently against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 12, according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette's Rob Demovsky. The Big Five formation features an empty backfield with five receivers. The running backs, including RBs Brandon Jackson and Dimitri Nance, only had 11 carries in the game. "Our run game, we've been working at it for a long time," offensive coordinator Joe Philbin said. "We haven't changed a whole lot. We need better execution and better production. It's not one person. It's not one position. It's a unit-wide issue. We've got to keep addressing it and keep working on it." The team hasn't had a back average more than 3.8 yards per carry in the last four games. Jackson has carried the ball 12 or fewer times in six of his last 10 games. Head coach Mike McCarthy and Philbin have not committed to giving the running backs more work in the immediate future.
