Red Bull Racing | Kasey Kahne has been racing in pain
Red Bull Racing driver Kasey Kahne (knees) has been racing with pain in both of his knees all season long and will undergo arthroscopic surgery Tuesday, Nov. 23, to fix a condition called "plica syndrome," according to SceneDaily.com's Bob Pockrass. People are born with the condition, which is a result of a buildup of fetal tissue. Pain and irritation happens when the person bends their knee. "It hurts all the time," Kahne said. "After I get out of the car, I limp for a while after a race. Some days, it's a lot worse than others where I would limp around. I just wanted to get it taken care of." The surgery would put Kahne out for a maximum of six weeks but said he plans to be recovered by Jan. 1.
