Updating a previous report, San Francisco 49ers QB Troy Smith has taken over the starting duties at quarterback on a week-to-week basis, according to CSNBayArea.com's Matt Maiocco. "I think they feel comfortable with both quarterbacks," head coach Mike Singletary said. "I don't think it's a big thing one way or the other. I think our team understands that I'm going to go with the guy that's winning right now."
