Cowboys | Officials involved in practice
Updating a previous report, the Dallas Cowboys used five officials during practice Friday, Oct. 22, and will continue use officials for two practices per week for the rest of the season, reports The Dallas Morning News' Gerry Fraley. On normal weeks, the officials will be present during Wednesday and Thursday practices. The officials were asked to concentrate on specific infractions, according to head coach Wade Phillips. When a penalty was called, the play was done again. Coaches then reviewed the penalties with the players during Friday practice. The Cowboys lead the league with 80.8 yards per game in penalties and rank second in penalties with 9.8 per game.
