Mets | Omar Minaya, Jerry Manuel fired

New York Mets general manager Omar Minaya has been relieved of his duties - the club has declined to renew his option - and manager Jerry Manuel has been let go, reports ESPN. ESPNNewYork.com's Adam Rubin reports that the Mets have asked Minaya to stay on in some other capacity, and Minaya has some interest but is uncertain about what he wants to do.
