Red Sox | Mike Lowell leaves Friday's game early

Boston Red Sox 1B Mike Lowell (head) was hit in the temple by a bad-hop single off the bat of New York Yankees OF Curtis Granderson in the fifth inning Friday, Sept. 24, according to The Associated Press. He remained in the game for the rest of the inning but was replaced by Lars Anderson in the sixth. "It's sore," manager Terry Francona said. "It hit him kind of on the temple, but he didn't exhibit any signs of concussion or anything like that. We'll keep an eye on him, but I think he's going to be all right."
