Richard Childress Racing | Clint Bowyer and team penalized
Richard Childress Racing driver Clint Bowyer and the team have been docked 150 championship driver and owner points after the No. 33 car was found to be in violation of several rules following their Sprint Cup victory at New Hampshire Motor Speedway last weekend, according to NASCAR.com. In addition, crew chief Shane Wilson has been fined $150,000 and suspended from the next six Cup events. He has been placed on probation until Dec. 31. Car chief Chad Haney received the same punishment. The penalty drops Bowyer from second to 12th in the Chase for the Sprint Cup standings, according to SceneDaily.com's Bob Pockrass. He will be 185 points behind the leader.
