Packers | Brandon Jackson ready for his second chance as starter
Green Bay Packers RB Brandon Jackson said he has been preparing to be the team's starting running back for the last three years, reports Greg A. Bedard, of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "I'm ready," Jackson said. Jackson was the starter for the first three games of the 2007 season before a shin injury sidelined him and opened the door for RB Ryan Grant to seize hold of the starter's job and never let go. Head coach Mike McCarthy said the team is going to move on and continue to run their offense the way they typically do. McCarthy noted losing Grant (ankle) hasn't made their job any more difficult, but he believes it is important to use his players to their skill set.
