Vikings | Chris Cook expected to start Saturday

Minnesota Vikings CB Chris Cook is expected to start the team's third preseason game Saturday, Aug. 28, reports the Minneapolis Star Tribune's Chip Scoggins. Cook was initially expected to work strictly behind CB Antoine Winfield on the left side, and Minnesota would go with one or a combination of CBs Lito Sheppard, Benny Sapp and Asher Allen on the right side until CB Cedric Griffin (knee) was healthy following a knee injury. However, Cook has impressed, and if he plays well Saturday, he could win the job at right corner over Sheppard, who hasn't had a strong camp. Allen is expected to be the full-time nickel back.
