Browns | Gerard Lawson pleads no contest to DUI
Cleveland Browns CB Gerard Lawson pleaded no contest to driving under the influence Tuesday, Aug. 17, in Cleveland Municipal Court after a hit-skip accident Aug. 8, reports Tonya Sams, of The Cleveland Plain Dealer. Charges of failure to control his vehicle, driving away from the accident without stopping and not wearing a seat belt were dropped. He was sentenced to one year of probation, 72 hours of an alternative to jail program and must complete 20 hours of community work service by the end of October. Lawson also had his license suspended for six months, has to attend two MADD meetings and must pay a $500 fine.
