Red Sox | Mike Lowell will not play Wednesday

Boston Red Sox manager Terry Francona said 1B Mike Lowell will not be in the lineup Wednesday, Aug. 4, because the team is facing a tough right-handed pitcher, according to ESPNBoston.com's Steven Krasner. Francona said Lowell will play a lot of first base in the absence of 1B Kevin Youkilis (hand), but will not play every day. C Victor Martinez will be at first Wednesday, with C Kevin Cash behind the plate.
