Royals | Gil Meche opts against surgery

Updating previous reports, Kansas City Royals SP Gil Meche (shoulder) has opted against season-ending surgery on his right shoulder, The Associated Press reports. He hopes to rehab to return as a reliever next month. He was told if he had surgery this month he would miss all of next season as well.
