Chargers | Cap Moves Start

The Union Tribune reports the San Diego Chargers began cleaning up their salary cap by releasein starting ORG Kevin Gogan. Gogan had surgery on his knee and then came back to play the final game with the team. He indicated he may have rushed his return and because of that his knee still is not where it needs to be. Gogan said the release might mark the end of his career. OLG Raleigh Roundtree is an unrestricted free agent and isn't expected to be brought back. The team has yet to make an offer to OLT Ben Coleman, an unrestricted free agent. Backup OL Kendyl Jacox is a restricted free agent who has been discussing a multiyear deal with the team, but his recent change in agents has slowed negotiations. Word is he wants to test the open market. The Chargers have until tomorrow to tender offers to restricted and exclusive-rights free agents.
