Chicago White Sox OF Trayce Thompson (thumb) will have surgery on an injured right thumb and could miss a month or more, according to Baseball America's Matt Eddy. The 2009 second-round pick is hitting .236 with six homers in 144 at-bats at Low-A Kannapolis.
