MLB | Jose Lima dies
Former MLB SP Jose Lima died of a massive heart attack at his Los Angeles home Sunday, May 23, according to MLB.com's Bailey Stephens. He was 37 years old. Lima's wife, Dorca Astacio, told Enrique Rojas of ESPNDeportes.com that she thought he was having nightmares so she called the paramedics, whose efforts to revive him were unsuccessful. Astacio said he had not experienced any health problems prior to the heart attack. Lima pitched in the major leagues from 1994 to 2006, compiling an 89-102 record with a 5.26 ERA with the Detroit Tigers, Houston Astros, Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets. His best season came in 1999, when he went 21-10 with a 3.58 ERA for the Astros. KFFL offers our condolences to relatives and friends.
