Orioles | Alfredo Simon blows save, suffers loss Saturday

Baltimore Orioles CL Alfredo Simon (0-1) allowed four runs on three hits and one walk over one-third of an inning Saturday, May 15, in a loss against the Cleveland Indians, according to The Associated Press. It was also Simon's first blown save in six chances this season. Manager Dave Trembley said he and pitching coach Rick Kranitz would talk to Simon, presumably about pitch selection, although Trembley would not criticize Simon's decision to throw a splitter to OF Austin Kearns through the media. "I don't think that's the way to go, to come out publicly and give an answer one way or the other," Trembley said, referring to whether or not he disagreed with the pitch chosen. "I don't think that's the way to do it."
