Raiders | Draft Notes

The San Jose Mercury News reports the Oakland Raiders may have picked up a sleeper pick in Derek Combs of Ohio State. The Raiders took him with the 228th pick. "We're going to take a good look at Derek as a wide receiver," Coach Jon Gruden said. "We drafted him as an athlete at that stage." Although Combs had only 11 receptions in four seasons with Ohio State, Gruden said the Raiders liked the way he caught the ball in pre-draft workouts. Gruden also was impressed with the hitting ability of Northern Arizona S Raymond Perryman.
