Rockies | Holcomb sidelined indefinitely
Jack Etkin, of InsideTheRockies.com, reports Colorado Rockies minor league 3B Darin Holcomb (back) will be out for an indefinite period of time because of back pain. He had received a pair of cortisone injections from Los Angeles-based back specialist Dr. Robert Watkins Wednesday, March 24. Beginning Monday, March 29, Holcomb will spend the next two weeks rehabbing at Fischer Sports, a physical therapy and conditioning center located in Phoenix, before receiving another pair of cortisone injections. Holcomb said surgery was not an option for him because his back was in such bad shape. "My disks are so degenerated, herniated and slipped that they couldn't risk doing surgery," he said.
