Jets | Coaching Updates

The NY Daily News reports Paul Hackett has reportedly accepted the New York Jets offensive coordinator position. The Jets haven't made a formal announcement on Hackett, but he already is trying to assemble a staff. The defensive coordinator spot is still up in the air and the candidates remain Ted Cottrell and Kurt Schottenheimer. The Bergen Record adds the hold up in Washington for Cottrell is he wants to coach the linebackers in addition to being defensive coordinator, something the Jets Herman Edwards may allow. Jets LBs coach Bob Sutton may wind up with that position in Detroit. If Hackett is hired, the Jets will use a version of the West Coast offense.
