Buccaneers | Clayton’s future remains up in the air
Rick Stroud, of the St. Petersburg Times, reports the Tampa Bay Buccaneers do not plan on making any decision on the future of WR Michael Clayton until after training camp. According to ProFootballWeekly.com, Clayton is due a $1 million deferred bonus March 15 and according to sources, the Buccaneers are close to releasing him. However, the deferred bonus is part of the $10 million in guarantees the team owes Clayton as part of the five-year, $24-million contract he signed in 2009. As a result, there is no roster bonus or new money that would quicken a decision by the team on Clayton.
