Redskins | Johnson adds strong runner to backfield

Jason Reid, of The Washington Post, reports newly added Washington Redskins RB Larry Johnson is expected to give the Redskins a strong runner in the backfield to compliment starter Clinton Portis. "We are excited to bring in a running back that has had so much success in this league," coach Mike Shanahan said. "Larry is a physical runner who will be a great addition to our backfield." Johnson's last 1,000-yard season was 2006, when he rushed for a career-high 1,789 yards and 17 touchdowns.
