Dolphins | Porter believes he’s worthy of a starting spot
Barry Jackson, of the Miami Herald, reports Miami Dolphins LB Joey Porter insulted the team's backups, including LB Cameron Wake, but not by name. Porter said during an interview with NFL Network that there is not a backup player on the roster who should be threatening him for a starting spot. "Nobody is that good enough behind me to be stepping on my toes ... It's a big drop-off," Porter said. Porter's complaints would appear to be ridiculous, especially when you consider the Dolphins averaged 60.5 defensive snaps per game in 2009, with Porter averaging 54 in games he played - three more than DL Jason Taylor and among the most on defense.
