Patriots | Crennel believes Johnson ready to become a DC

Albert Breer, of the Boston Globe, reports Kansas City Chiefs defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel said he thinks New England Patriots defensive line coach Pepper Johnson, who is believed to be a candidate for the Patriots defensive coordinator job, is ready to become a defensive coordinator in the NFL. "I think Pepper is probably ready to take over a defense and be in control, and I anticipate he'll have that opportunity soon," Crennel said.
