Lions | Mayhew feels S. Hill has a lot of ability to improve on

Nicholas J. Cotsonika, of the Detroit Free Press, reports Detroit Lions general manager Martin Mayhew views DT Sammie Hill as a "middle-of-the-road defensive tackle at this point in his career." Mayhew noted that there was a difference and a drop-off in the team's rushing defense when Hill was not on the field. Mayhew added, "He's still very raw and still has a lot of ability to improve -- his hands, his get-off. He has a lot of improvement he can make in terms of learning football and learning run-blocking schemes, learning protections. All of those things are going to help him, and he's still a very young, raw prospect."
