Packers | Jolly indicted on drug charges
Andy Nelesen, of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, reports Green Bay Packers DL Johnny Jolly made a brief court appearance Tuesday, Dec. 22, in Houston to face a charge of possession of codeine. Jolly was arrested in July 2008 for possession of at least 200 grams of codeine. Houston police found cups containing codeine syrup in a vehicle driven by Jolly. Jolly was initially indicted in October 2008, but those charges were dropped so prosecutors could obtain more accurate measurements of the codeine mixture allegedly found in Jolly's vehicle. A grand jury issued a second indictment last week. State District Court Judge Michael Anderson found there was enough probable cause for Jolly to be charged and indicted in the case. Jolly's next court date is a pre-trial hearing Jan. 26. Jolly remains free after posting a $10,000 bond Monday, Dec. 21.
