Raiders | Russell remains starter for now
Steve Corkran, of the Oakland Tribune, reports Oakland Raiders QB JaMarcus Russell remains the team's starting quarterback for the time being, in part because of a hamstring injury suffered by QB Bruce Gradkowski (hamstring) in Week 10. Head coach Tom Cable wants to meet with his quarterbacks, go over the plan for Week 11 and the rest of the season, and put that plan in motion, which could take more time than expected. "We haven't gotten anywhere with that decision," Cable said Monday, Nov. 16. "We hoped to be able to talk about it now, but we're not ready to do that." The discussions will be among Cable and his quarterbacks, with managing general partner Al Davis not influencing the decision, Cable said. QB Charlie Frye also is a viable option to start.
