Jets | Carroll released to send message?

Rich Cimini, of the New York Daily News, reports the feeling close to the New York Jets is that head coach Rex Ryan released free-agent CB Ahmad Carroll, in part, to send a message to the team. Carroll refused to take a written test last week required by his position coach. Each week, most of the Jets' position coaches quiz their players on their upcoming opponent. Carroll refused to take it and was inactive Week 10.
