NASCAR | Yeley working his way back
Kris Johnson, of SceneDaily.com, reports free-agent driver J.J. Yeley (Mayfield Motorsports) is working his way back to racing after a serious crash Aug. 22 in a Sprint Cup car event at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas. His car was involved in a barrel roll and he fractured three vertebrae in the process. Yeley has undergone neck surgery and has started working out with an eye toward racing in 2010. "With regard to lifting weights, I'm just taking it easy. I don't want to push myself too far, too fast," Yeley said. "But as far as everyday stuff, I'm able to do regular yard work. I've played golf a couple of times and I play just as bad now as I did before I hurt myself, so I guess I'm back to as normal as possible."
