Jets | Mangini pushed for selection of Gholston in draft

Rich Cimini, of the New York Daily News, reports New York Jets LB Vernon Gholston's lack of progress in his pro career is not a surprise to some in the organization. Gholston was not a popular draft pick, as opinions in the team's draft room were mixed on him. However, the team selected Gholston in the draft because then-head coach Eric Mangini lobbied hard for him. "That one's on Eric," according to a source.
