Patriots | Taking Pressure Off Brady

The Boston Herald reports New England Patriots RB Antowain Smith finally gave the Patriots a 100-yard rusher during a game. He ran for 117 yards on 23 carries against the Falcons on Sunday, averaging 5.1 yards per carry. The last time the Patriots had a 100-yard rusher was in 1999, when Terry Allen ran for over 100-yards in the final game of the season. Smith said the team wanted to establish a strong running game early to take pressure off QB Tom Brady.
