Daniel Brown, of the San Jose Mercury News, reports San Francisco 49ers QB Alex D. Smith will likely remain the team's starting quarterback for the foreseeable future, according to head coach Mike Singletary. "We're not going to be a flavor-of-the-month kind of team,'' Singletary said.
