Vikings | Team Notes

Bill Williamson of the Pioneer Press reports for the Sporting News although the Minnesota Vikings are not one of the teams that have already contacted agent Eric Metz about TE Mark Chmura, they may enter the scene if Chmura's price tag is small. The Vikings have a lot of salary issues to deal with before they start looking to sign new players. Chmura played under Vikings offensive coordinator Sherman Lewis when he held that position in Green Bay, and Chmura thrived. Chmura would be an excellent option to offset star WRs Randy Moss and Cris Carter in the Vikings offense. One RB to keep an eye on as a potential replacement for Robert Smith is Seattle's Ricky Watters. He is an expert in the Vikings West Coast offense system and reportedly Seattle will take a third-round draft pick for Watters - if they shop him around the league.
