Astros | Cooper burned bridges with veterans
The Houston Chronicle's Richard Justice reports former Houston Astros manager Cecil Cooper burned bridges with veteran players last season when the players were convinced Cooper lied to them in a team meeting. Two veterans said on the day IF Aaron Boone emotionally told his teammates he was going to undergo heart surgery, Cooper got on his players for not playing harder. Lastly, when C Ivan Rodriguez broke the all-time record for games caught, Cooper didn't congratulate him until the next day.
