Buccaneers | Could soon release M. Bryant
Rick Stroud, of the St. Petersburg Times, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers PK Matt Bryant (hamstring) is on the verge of being released by the team. Head coach Raheem Morris called Bryant into his office Monday, Aug. 31, and informed him he needed to practice this week and play in the final preseason game to have any chance of remaining with the team. Bryant, however, says he needs another week for the injured hamstring on his right kicking leg to completely heal. Rather than jeopardize his career, Bryant said Monday, Aug. 31, that his release by the team might be better than rushing back.
