Lions | Culpepper keeping himself alive in quarterback race
Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said QB Daunte Culpepper is "doing a good job keeping himself alive" in the battle for the team's starting quarterback job. "Obviously the weight loss has helped his game and it's got him back to being a quarterback again where he can avoid the rush and keep plays alive, and make plays downfield," Schwartz said. He added that Culpepper has been solid and very, very consistent all the way back to when the team started their OTAs right through the preseason. Culpepper said he is feeling great. "I honestly feel like I felt before I got hurt... finally. It has taken some years, but I do feel like I did before I got hurt. Hopefully I can continue to make plays like that when need be. It feels great," Culpepper said of his health.
