Chiefs | Mini-camp Notes

The Kansas City Star reports Kansas City Chiefs OL Marcus Spears opened mini-camp as the starting left guard in place of Jeff Blackshear. Spears' main competition will come from Blackshear and Donald Willis. LB Lew Bush opened both practice sessions at strong-side linebacker. The team then moved Mike Maslowski to the middle where he is backing up Marvcus Patton. Larry Atkins, who just moved to linebacker from safety, is backing up Bush. DE Eric Hicks and RB Priest Holmes had the mini-camp's first fight. Coach Dick Vermeil expects undrafted free agent PK Lawrence Tynes to challenge Todd Peterson for the starting PK job.
