Chiefs | WR Notes

The Kansas City Star reports Kansas City Chiefs rookie WR Marvin Minnis took most of the snaps with the first unit in practice. He could start not only Friday's final pre-season game at St. Louis, but also against the Raiders on opening day. Minnis replaced Derrick Mayes as the starter at split end early in practice Monday. Mayes returned to the lineup while WR Derrick Alexander sat out the latter portion of practice because of a sore Achilles' tendon. Coach Dick Vermeil said to keep the starting job Minnis had to do ""The same thing I saw out of him last Thursday night -- just keep getting better, and when the ball comes to him, catch it."
