MLB | Backe to undergo surgery

MLB.com's Alyson Footer posted on her Twitter page that free-agent SP Brandon Backe (shoulder) was examined by a team doctor and was diagnosed with a partial tear in his rotator cuff. The Houston Astros will pay for his surgery.
