Bears | Contract update: Melton

Updating a previous item, Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports Chicago Bears DE Henry Melton signed a four-year deal that included a $511,230 signing bonus and base salaries of $310,000 (2009), $395,000 (2010), $480,000 (2011) and $565,000 (2012). An escalator is included in the final year of his contract that could bump up his base pay for 2012.
