Packers | News & Notes
The Journal Sentinel reports former Green Bay Packers RB Edgar Bennett is attempting to secure a job in the team's front office. He would replace Gill Byrd, who left last month after two years as executive director of player programs and community affairs. Sources said he was expected to be in Green Bay for an interview this week. The situation appears to be the job is Bennett's if he wants it. GM Ron Wolf, who is stepping down as GM around June 1, recently signed a multi-year contract to serve as a consultant with the Packers. The Packers would receive draft-choice compensation if Wolf wanted to work for another team, but no compensation if Wolf received some form of ownership from another team.
