NFL | W. Bryant trying to return
Kent Somers, of The Arizona Republic, reports free-agent DT Wendell Bryant (Cardinals) wants to return to the NFL. Bryant, a former first-round draft choice, has not played a down of football in five years and the last time we saw him he was suspended for the 2005 season after receiving his third strike in the league's substance abuse program. Bryant has now been sober for nearly a year and has dropped almost 30 pounds, getting down to 295. The Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions have brought him in for workouts and he could be fully reinstated by July. There is also the possibility he could play in the CFL or UFL, too.
